There are no words

I haven't posted anything about all the injustice & hatred because. . . honestly. . . there are no words.

I can't imagine how it feels to live in fear of the police. . . the government. . . your neighbors. . . strangers. I can't imagine because I'm white.

And even though I'm a woman & have my own potential threats simply because of my gender, it doesn't seem to compare. . . at least not to me.

I've watched hours of the Derek Chauvin trial & hours of news analysis. I've watched movies & documentaries & I still feel woefully under educated.

Despite this, I know two things to be true for me:

(1) I feel a heaviness in my heart that immediately sickens me & brings tears to my eyes when faced with the injustice & hatred that has been / is perpetrated against another human because of the color of their skin, and

(2) I didn't want my silence to be in anyway taken as a lack of support for my black & brown brothers & sisters. I support you. I care about you. I want you to be safe. I want you to FEEL safe. I love you. And most importantly, I'm sorry.
