I woke up this morning at 4:30am so I could teach a 6 am yoga class. I did the same thing yesterday and I have to say…I kinda like teaching at the crack of dawn.
This coming from someone who is a self proclaimed “night owl”…who regularly says “I’m not a morning person”….because well I didn’t think I was. Maybe it’s the influence of Mr. Universe who pops right out of bed ready to tackle each day.
Maybe it’s the result of potty training a puppy that regularly meant numerous trips outside in the wee hours of the morning. Maybe I’ve finally released enough of the daily stressors to feel relaxed and refreshed when morning comes.
Perhaps it’s partly a result of seeing so many eager faces shining back at me. Eagerly awaiting direction to move their bodies…align their breath with movement…clearing their mind and setting an intention for the day. Could be their beaming smiles at the end of class that feels like an extra shot of espresso in my decaf.
Whatever the cause, I’m shocked…yet pleasantly surprised…at the effect. My body feels energized and my mind clear. It’s early and I have the entire day waiting for me. I’ve managed to get in a workout…drink some coffee…and write my blog. Setting the tone for a day of gratitude and accomplishment.
I’m not sure who this person is that’s wide awake so early but I’m glad I finally met her.
Namaste
